Classified File: Who is Doga?

Ahoy you friendly stranger, I’m Doga (pronounced like Noah w D) currently working as a UI/UX Designer in Properti. So far, I have found solutions for people’s problems in the finance, e-commerce and real estate industries and hoping to have a chance to do more so. I love being part of teams that deeply value collaborative effort. My main approach to design is deeply rooted in understanding and responding to the multifaceted nature of human experiences, always aiming to create solutions that resonate on a personal level.

Before all these, I was part of another design world, working as an architect designing really tall buildings and flexing my 3D muscles in software that killed my old computer. (RIP Borg— thank you for your service.)

Outside of work, I love trying different digital products in Product Hunt and writing one-liner reviews on Letterboxd that I think that are hilarious.

Design Principles

In every product development journey, regardless of the different teams, methods, and processes involved, I anchor myself with four guiding principles. These constants shape my approach, ensuring my work resonates deeply with users. Here they are:

Everything is Connected

Some time ago

I approach design with the understanding that every discipline and topic is connected in some way. I keep an open mind to potential solutions and actively seek out inspiration from various fields to create unique and innovative designs.

Create a Compelling story

Some time ago

Design is not only creating aesthetically pleasing solutions. By striving to create a compelling story, I aim to not only deliver great design but also to create an emotional connection with users that will keep them engaged and coming back for more.

Design for the whole system

Some time ago

I believe in thinking about design holistically and considering how all the different parts of a product or service work together. By understanding the bigger picture, we can create more cohesive and seamless experiences for our users.

Kill your darlings

Some time ago

Every designer has their own personal favorites and biases, but it's important to be willing to let go of them in order to create the best solution for the user. I constantly challenge my own assumptions and test my designs to ensure that they align with user needs and not just my own personal preferences.

I'm the kind of person who replays the same songs over and over to stay focused and in the zone. And the one band that consistently lets me do that with all their albums? Metric. They're my go-to for endless replays!

My first video game, Bugsy Bunny Lost in Time, had me hooked as a kid, even without understanding single word of English.
